Path
The next part that I saw the fat cats follow up with was telling their story, how they got to where they are as it relates to the customer and product
Most people love to listen to a good story, and here we tell our story, so that people can resonate, identify, relate and empathize with us
We give people a chance to get to know us, so that they can see if we’re the type of person that they want to do business with
Because lots of sales (60-80%, I read somewhere)are made just because people like the person/company they buy from, people like to buy from people they like, know and trust
Like with books, if you’ve started to like a certain author you might want to get more of his/ her books, without even considering the marketing for them, you just want the book because you like that author so much
You already know, like and trust the author, you’re already sold on what they do and will buy any new stuff that is released by your favorite author
And telling your story helps people to be able to relate with you, and naturally not all people will relate with you, some will probably be repelled by your story, but that is good for business, because those people would not be good customers anyway 🙂
This type of story is usually about:
“Who is this? And why should I listen”
How you decided to become involved in what you do, your business, told in a way that is relatable for your customers
The story of our: origination, struggle and solution as it relates to our business, the path we’ve walked to get where we are now
Essentially your before and after story
This story tells how you got into this, and what struggles you had to overcome, those struggles are often the same ones that your ideal customer is working through right now/ has to work through to get where they want
•Before, the origin
•Some change, the search, the struggle
•Solution, what happened after, the transformation, the result
By authentically telling your story you will naturally attract and connect with those people who resonate well with you, your ideal customer, and if you’re not honest and authentic when telling your story you run the risk of ending up with having to deal with people you don’t vibe well with in your business, and then you business might become a drag instead of a joy
